I was asked by a client earlier in the year if I could build a customized map using Google API. Of course, I thought it would be easy. I use custom maps all the time when I build itinerary for travels. I thought for each category, I could create a new map. Of course, it wasn’t that easy. I searched low and high for a tutorial that allowed for customized pins, images, categories, all through XML parsing.

Belle & Clive is a sister site for Bluefly, specializing in flash sales with higher end products. The look and feel was produced by Sub Rosa. The My Account pages weren’t included in their package so as the UI designer, I had to quickly put something together.
