365 Days of Calligraphy: Month 6

June was a month of broad pen calligraphy practice. I studied Sheila Waters’s Foundations of Calligraphy chapter 5-7, gothic, cursive gothic, and uncial.

I enjoy broad pen almost as much as pointed pen now as I learn the main 30 degree and 45 degree much used in these traditional hand. I was also able to take Carl Rohr’s class that took me out of my comfort zone to learn about pen angle twisting. It was incredibly hard but was incredibly an amazing class to take.
