Clinical.ly offers a new system for clinical trials

Clinically is a software as a service business. The focus of the business is on electronic regulatory binder for clinical trials. A regulatory binder is used by clinical research facilities to file study related documents with sponsor (pharma company) and regulators. It’s a laborious, error prone process which could greatly benefit from technology & automation for regulatory compliance staff at institutions which conduct clinical trials.

The client approached me to have a marketing site designed and developed with only a logo and copy available. They also provided a logo but was unhappy with its current palette and requested an updated color palette. I worked directly with client researching audience, photos, and a web style, providing a variety of optional colors and web fonts available to use while staying within the original look and feel of the logo.

As clients narrowed down choices, I created various style tiles before narrowing it down to the final version used for the web. Each versions were slightly altered for optimized look and feel, which the client wanted to be as minimal as possible.

Many of the photos were selected through Shutterstock and photoshopped to match the overall colors in the approved style guide.

Concurrently to the style tile, I worked the wireframes, being mindful that the client wanted the site to have a lot of text. I prototyped the designs in Invision, getting feedback from client and his team, and additional users who I knew would be the ideal visitors. It was important to make the site include a lot of liability information while also not appearing too “informercial-like”.

The final design was completed in Sketch with a custom icon set created in Illustrator. The icons were designed mindful to the shape of the logo.

A living style guide was developed in HTML/CSS on Codepen for review and was provided to client for the internal development team to utilize in the SAAS product.

The site was completed using WordPress CMS, of which I developed a unique template for the client. Aside from the design, the only additional plugin I used for the CMS was a WPLite Form and Image Cropper.
